Kundalini yoga as taught by yogi bhajan
I didn't get into kundalini yoga to awaken my kundalini, I don't think I'd even heard of that when I first got in to it. And I love breath of fire! So many ways that tool can be used. Also the practice of noticing what has moved/opened in between movements has been huge in re-establishing my mind-breath-body connection.
What I find is so powerful about those practices is the combination of easy repetitive movements and breath - I feel this is very effective at clearing my energy and opening myself up. I suppose it's kind of like a very informal kundalini yoga. I've incorporated them into my morning movement routine, which is now a blend of various yogas, breathwork, stretching, dancing, meditation, chanting, sound, etc. I gain a lot of benefits from kundalini yoga practices, although I don't often go through them in a manner similar to the classes.

Mods: Please feel free to delete this post if I misspoke. So, figure out if you are looking to awaken your kundalini or if you want to try kundalini yoga, which is just like any other yoga. Don't get me wrong, yoga definitely helps and is probably one of the strongest legs of that tripod, but yoga alone wouldn't help is what I am trying to say, at least not in all the cases. Maybe because I come from a different school of thought where Kundalini, Meditation and Yoga are more closely related, and only one aspect cannot help you awaken your Kundalini, I beg to differ from this school of thought. For the lack of a better word it felt very cultish to me and also I didn't really experience any Kundalini awakening symptoms which I had not already experienced.
